Switching From Analog TV to Digital

The Television is a popular source of entertainment that many across the United States enjoy. There are many services that are available, like satellite and cable, which broadcast television channels that are greatly enjoyed. In addition to these services, which are paid, it is also possible to receive free television signals over the air.

An antenna is usually required to receive these signals. Sometimes a simple bunny ear antenna is used, but some have TV antennas mounted to their roof. Beginning next February, people who get their television signal through the air, will have to upgrade to a special type of antenna, due to the Analog to Digital Switch.

Analog to Digital: The Switch Over

Those that live in the US and use an antenna to receive TV signal, might have to switch to digital in 2009. The government mandated switch from Analog TV to Digital is set to be completed by February 17, 2009.
